Production Director

With over three decades experience in military avionics, Ian brought a wealth of business and management know-how to the team when he walked through our doors seven years ago and he’s played a crucial role in Thermionic’s success ever since.

In 1971, Ian started as a test engineer at Raytheon Systems Ltd and by 1986 had moved into test and quality control management. He later became Manufacturing Manager at the company’s Harlow base and his responsibilities included planning, procurement, production engineering, assembly, inspection and testing.

At Thermionic Culture, Ian is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the company and actively manages staff recruitment, planning, procurement of parts and the end-to-end production process, ensuring all our units are built on time and to budget and that all orders are ready to be shipped out to distributors and customers across the world in pronto fashion. It’s Ian to whom you can doff your cap when your Thermionic products arrive exactly as you expect them to!

As with all of the team, Ian loves his music and his favourite artists include Phil Collins and Rod Stewart as well as a good healthy smattering of classic soul music. He has always been a keen sportsman and represented Harlow and Essex at table tennis before an untimely injury forced him to take a back seat. Ian’s current sport of choice is golf while his beloved Tottenham Hotspur will always be a lifelong passion!
